You were before the midnight deadline to start new auctions but 4 full days had already passed and he had already won the auction on Linval.

The deadline only applies to new nominations and it was midnight Friday (not Saturday).
Yep, the new bid was after four days had passed so Buccernaut wins the bid.
New bids are allowed on players already nominated of course (if four days have not passed without a bid).
